Updated 07/13/21 The southern peninsula state of Baja California Sur instituted its own system of evaluation of the COVID-19. The state endured Level 6 in the Spring of 2020, the most severe condition to halt the spread of the pandemic. In April 2021 the restrictions were lifted to Level 3, allowing 50% occupancy of businesses and general opening of restrictions. But with the rise in new cases and deaths in the Month of May the municipalities of Los Cabos and La Paz were returned to Level 5, to be followed two weeks later by the balance of the state.
The current state of sanitary alert according to the Traffic Light System is Orange, Critical Level 5. Masks are required in all public places, and additional restrictions apply specifically to La Paz and/or Los Cabos.
