Living in Baja California Sur we obviously have great fish available to eat. Whether you like Dorado, Marlin, Red Snapper, Cabrilla, Sierra or Whaoo most is readily available to us depending on the season. However being born and raised in the Northwestern U.S. I do miss my Salmon...but no longer.
An old high school friend reached out to me and is now importing his fresh catch of Kenai Red Sockeye Salmon to the residents of Los Cabos and Baja Sur in general. This Salmon is some of the best Wild Salmon in the world. These Red Sockeye's comes from the area of the Kenai river in Alaska and Clint Benson the founder of the Kenai Red Fish Co. of Portland has started something different. Modeled after the CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) concept of Farm-to-Table he his providing his Sockeye directly from the fisherman.
Benson flies it into Los Cabos airport and you may purchase his fresh frozen vacuum packed or smoked Salmon product right here in Cabo. This year will have a very limited supply but Clint promises to provide much more next season if there is a demand. At this time we are testing the market to see what that demand will look like. Below you will find the introductory pricing and the minimum purchase required for his Sockeye.
I have had the pleasure not only reconnecting with an old friend but I now have some of the best Salmon I have ever eaten and I know Salmon. So take a look and let us know if you would like to get some while the supply lasts.
