The New Year brings progress at CostaBaja
CostaBaja Resort Contact Information |
The New Year brought the continued hum of construction underway at CostaBaja Resort & Marina on the shores of the Sea of Cortez in La Paz. With just a few days of repose for Christmas and New Years day, the construction crews have been working sun up to sun down on four phases of the resort development.
The big news this month will be the visit of world renown golfer Gary Player to the Resort. Gary Player will visit the CostaBaja Resort & Marina January 26-28, 2009 for the official ground breaking ceremonies for the Gary Player Signature Golf Course here at the resort in La Paz. Destine to be one of the greatest 18 hole courses in Mexico, the course has actually been under construction since late November, but this will be Mr. Players first visit to take a look at the progress being made on the course. Already the contours of two holes are taking shape as well as the practice course located near the future location of the club house.
“I am so excited to be doing my first design project in Mexico at CostaBaja Resort and Marina. La Paz is gaining wonderful momentum as a tourist destination and the golf course to be built at this stunning site on the Sea of Cortez will do nothing but contribute to that. I look forward to experiencing the well-known Mexican hospitality during my visits to CostaBaja.” said Gary Player.
There will be additional news on the event to follow, but those wishing to visit CostaBaja during Gary Players visit should make reservations early at the Fiesta Inn and be sure to mention the Gary Player Ground Breaking Ceremony when making their reservation. Guests will have the opportunity to tour the facility and meet with sales representatives to learn more about the Resort’s future and how they can invest in this outstanding opportunity on the Sea of Cortez.
The beach front tennis courts have moved into the final phases of preparation, all the concrete work has been done and soon the surfacing and fencing will commence. Soon, residents and visitors to CostaBaja will have the opportunity to play tennis on two courts located just steps away from the beautiful Ensenada de La Paz. With the beautiful Sea of Cortez lapping at the shores just yards away, it may be difficult to keep your eye on the ball.
The water treatment facility, which will recycle water from the city of La Paz for the irrigation of the Gary Player Signature course, has moved into the next phase of construction as well. The exterior of the containment and treatment building
is in the finishing stage and the building that will house the control functions for the plant is now underway. CostaBaja has made a commitment within the development of this ¾ of a billion dollar project to keep things green, both aesthetically and environmentally. With water being a scarce commodity in our desert environment, the water treatment plant will not only assist the city of La Paz in water reclamation, but will keep the Gary Player Signature Golf Course green and playable, even in the driest months with minimum impact on the water needs of the community.
The VistaMar Community on the hillside, overlooking the Bay of La Paz is moving along, virtually day and night as well. The foundations are nearing completion and the first two levels of the structure are erupting from the cement works. The crews took only a few days over the holidays as the buildings move toward completion later this year. The VistaMar Tower will house luxury ocean view condominiums and penthouse suites that will have unrivaled luxury in the beautiful Seaside resort development.
Construction of the VistaMar community has temporarily closed the main entrance to the CostaBaja Resort & Marina. Visitors and residents of the resort need to travel less than a kilometer further along the main road alongside the Resort and use the turnout to make the temporary entrance to the resort, Marina and Fiesta Inn complex. This detour is only temporary and the main entrance should be reopened within a month or so.
Along the ridgeline between the 10th and 11th hole of the Gary Player Signature course the progress on the Las Colinas hillside homes is now clearly evident. These homes will also be completed later in 2009 and provide an affordable opportunity to be part of this resort community for savvy investors seeking a home in the most beautiful area of Baja California Sur.
With all this happening at CostaBaja Resort & Marina, we hope that you will take the opportunity to come visit, and familiarize yourselves with this spectacular resort development on the shores of the Sea of Cortez.
