Gary Player at CostaBaja Golf Course

The Holidays are just around the corner and things are beginning to take on the look of the season. The restaurants are filled with evening diners and there is a bit of a nip in the air after sunset.

Speaking of sunsets, the return of the winter’s scattered clouds has made for some truly spectacular sunsets when viewed from the CostaBaja Beach Club, overlooking Bahia de La Paz. There isn’t a bad seat in the house as home-owner members enjoy an evening cocktail to the spectacular west facing view.

Chirstmas tree CostaBaja ResortWith the solar pool heating system keeping things warm, some folks take a lap in the horizon-less pool or are inspired as they work out in the gym facilities that are part of the Beach Club.

When you are enjoying the sunset from the comfort of the beachfront seating, don’t forget to look up and admire the architectural beauty of the Beach Club as it is lit by the warm sunset rays. The 16’ sculpted cardon cacti that are the focal points of the ship shaped bar illuminate from inside as the light dims over the bay.

Another favorite evening activity for homeowner members now that the evenings are brisk, is a game of beach front tennis. Two tennis courts are now available to member owners and I can’t imagine there are tennis courts anywhere with a more distracting view. Located right on the beach, just steps away from the Beach Club, these courts also overlook the Bay as the sun sets in the west.

In between the tennis courts and the beach club is a place to let your imagination soar at sunset or any time of day. The VistaMar community model home is also located on the beach, facing the direction of many of the remaining tower units will very soon. Folks visiting CostaBaja while considering an investment in this luxury resort community on the Sea of Cortez can sit back in this elegantly outfitted model and visualize themselves at home in La Paz.

The sunset also illuminates the explosive construction underway of the Las Colinas community. The Las Colinas homes are located on the hillside, above Pueblo Marinero and in between holes 10 and 11 on the Gary Player Signature Golf Course. These homes to be occupied in 2010 will share the spectacular view of the Ensenada de La Paz and the Bay of La Paz and the spectacular vistas they provide day and year long.

Cactus Sculpture at CostaBaja Beach ClubThe marina and Pueblo Marinero are at the center of CostaBaja living. Earlier this month the FOOBAR yacht rally arrived in La Paz and a majority of the power yachts involved in this fun regatta berthed at CostaBaja. Having called CostaBaja my home port for years, I can assure you there are no finer marina facilities available on the peninsula and certainly no more helpful and friendly staff in Mexico.  Your vessel lies secure in this gated marina with 24hrs security your marine investment is secure from natural and man made threats.

Marina at CostaBajaBut as a true mariner the greatest advantage is the facilities proximity to fun boating. Just minutes away from open water, the marina offers the location to allow a ‘quick evening sail’ on the Bay of La Paz. And because of the prime location, tides and winds play a much smaller role in your sail plan than they do from other marinas in La Paz.

Pueblo Marinero is a lively place to enjoy dinner and the sunset over the marina as well. Azul Marino has long been a popular place to dine for locals and CostaBaja residents. Serving fine cuisine with attentive staff and good menu selections and specials has made the restaurant one of the most popular in La Paz. Azul Marino has just recently opened an adjoining wine and tapis bar. It is sure to be as big a success as their restaurant. They now have a walk in climate controlled glass wine cellar to store your best wine selections.

Golf Course taking shapeOpening this winter are two new additions to the dining possibilities. La Cantina Mejicana will offer tradition Mexican cuisine and La Barcaccia which will offer Italian cuisine. I strolled past the store fronts of both of these two restaurants the other day and wow, neither will be your little taco stand of yesteryear. Impressive interior design, comfortable furnishings and floor to ceiling glass fronts will great the diners of this stylish new establishments.

Also coming this winter will be a Breeze Mart. Located at the west end of Pueblo Marinero, the tienda will offer your usual fare of quick mart items.

Gary Player surveys his signture golf course in La PazGolf will soon be the other attraction for homeowners and guests. The Gary Play Signature Golf Course under construction is starting to sprout a lot of green. The water reclamation plant has been online now for several months and the irrigation lake is full. The sprinkler systems can be seen casting rainbows over the sprouting turf on several of the greens and fairways of the budding golf resort.

The inauguration of the Gary Play signature course is scheduled for November, 2010. To oversee the construction of the course bearing his name, Gary Player visited CostaBaja in early November. Taking a tour of the 18 hole course now under construction Gary was extremely satisfied with the way the vision of the course was now taking real form.

We hope you too can visualize yourself in this beautiful resort lifestyle on the Sea of Cortez and will allow our CostaBaja sales team to encourage you to visit our community in paradise.`
