Weather for the Baja California Peninsula

Baja Weather Synopsis

07AM MDT 05/17/08 Clear skies and early summer temperatures will cover Baja today. Temperatures will soar to near 105°F in Mexicali and near 100°F in La Paz today. The stream of clouds from the Pineapple Express (yellow arrow) has been pushed well south of the peninsula. Winds are expected to remain light and variable in the Sea of Cortez through the forecast period. On the Pacific side winds will be light as well, under 10kts through the forecast period. The first tropical wave of the season will move onto our map later today (magenta arrow) and area of thunderstorms (orange arrow) is moving west and as it dissipates, may bring us some clouds early next week in Baja Sur as it is drawn into a Low (green arrow) over the mainland.
