Sunday 24 June 2018 There are two areas of interest to our south. The more easterly one is about 300 miles southwest of Acapulco with a low chance of development in the next 24hrs and only a moderate chance of development over the next 5 days as it moves west. The second area is about 800 miles south-southwest of Cabo San Lucas. It has a high probability of development in the next 24hrs and 5 days as it initially moves to the north.  The initial forecast track may put the Chicken Little's of storm gosips in a whirl, but strong mid and upper level winds are going to push this system to the west-northwest, about the time it is 250 miles west of Socorro Islands. There is one model that shows a path in the direction of Baja Sur, but note that it puts the system over sub 26°C waters for 3-4 days. So, even if that model path were to hold it would likely be tracking a cloudy day.
