September 23, 2009 8:00 AM MDT Tropical Storm Nora has formed some 645 miles SW of Cabo San Lucas and is moving west. TS Nora is expected to continue to the west and not pose any threat to Baja landfall. Nora is forecast to remain a tropical storm for the next few days and never achieve hurricane intensity. Therefore information in this page will only be updated once per day.

Tropical Storm Nora is currently located near 16.1N 116.7W and is moving 310° at 7kts. Central barometric pressure is estimated at 1005Mb and winds are 35kts with gusts to 45kts. The forecasts calls for Nora to continue its westward movement over the next several days before upper level winds and cooler waters reduce Nora to a tropical low.

Tropical Storm Noram is the 14th named system of the 2009 hurricane season. Nora became a tropical storm at 3AM MDT on 9/23 from TD17E which had evolved earlier on 9/22.
