The twenty second Gray Whale Festival will take place on January 29-31, 2016 and will include specials on whale watching tours, games, althletic and cultural events. The Community events seeks to promote tourism activities to strengthen economic activity in the region.
Each year, Mexico becomes the host of one of the most fascinating migratory phenomena: the Gray Whales. After 10,000 kilometers of road from the Bering Sea, Whales arrive during the winter to the warm waters of Mexico, along Baja California; a natural spectacle to be seen.
The director of Municipal Tourism , Miguel Cota Higuera, said that begin on Friday, January 29 with a sports and artistic program in the shrine of the beach, to continue on Saturday with various activities throughout the day, and at night with the coronation of Queen Adelaide I and the opening of the Festival of the Gray Whale Baja California Sur; will end on Sunday 31 with an artistic program in the shrine of the tourist pier and a gourmet event.
Festival attendees can enjoy various cultural and ecotourism activities, like horseback riding, fireworks and dances; not forgetting the tours to learn about these fascinating creatures approaching, perhaps driven by curiosity.
