New Mandatory Sterilization for Street Animals & Animal Abuse Laws Take Effect

Effective January 1, 2022 animals found wandering without collar and identification will be subject to mandatory sterilization by the municipality. The new law also encompasses cruelty to animals which result in fines including chaining a dog without food or water among other practices, such as their abandonment in uninhabited houses, that is to say, that all acts of cruelty and mistreatment towards living and sensitive beings are punished.
