Friday August  10, 2018 Tropical Cyclone John has begun to fade away west of the Baja peninsula and no longer poses a threat of landfall. Some continued showers and thunderstorms may be experienced in the southern state.

Hurrcane John at 9AM MDT was located near 26.8N 121.1W  and was moving 310° @ 09kts. Central barometric pressure was 1003Mb and winds were 30kts with gusts to 40kts making John just a Depression.

Tropical cyclone John is forecast to wander about to the west of the Baja peninsula for the next couple of days before dissipaiting, without threatening landfall. The remains of John will likely move into northern Baja and southern California late nedt week
