Thursday, October 1, 2015 08:30 AM MDT Tropical Depression Marty has dissipated as of 3AM. No further updates will be made to this page. The remains of Marty will wnder about south of Cabo San Lucas for the next several days and provide the storm chance of thudnerstorms to the souther peninsula late in the weekend as the system slowly move off to the north northeast.
Marty is forecast to continue to dissipate as it moves out into the Pacific toward the Socorro Islands and is forecast to dissipate as a tropical cyclone by late Friday or early Saturday. The next concern for Baja is the tropical Low developing about 700 south-southwest of Baja which may benefit in development from the moisture provided by the demise of Marty. Long range GFS models are putting heavy rain and thunderstorms over the tip of the peninsula the first of the week.
At 9AM Tropical Depression Marty was located near 16.2N 102.6W and was moving 275° at 5kts. Central barometric pressure is 1003Mb and winds are 30kts with gusts to 40kts making Marty just short of Tropical Storm status. Twelve foot seas extend out 15 to 30 miles.
Forecast tracks ccall for Marty to move to the west through early Saturday when atmopspheric conditions will cause Marty to cease being a tropical cyclone. Marty poses no threat tothe Baja peninsula in the current forecast.
