The default ttl for all forward zones is 24hours (1 day) I also synced my custom domain to office 365 and on prem. How can i change the default ttl to 2 hours
TTL Heidy model - SET 229 » Sweet Models
I have tried to reduce the ttl for individual forward zones to 2 hours through soa tab, both minimum (default ttl and ttl for this record, but getting reset to default overnight. I created a domain on prem and synchronized it with ad connect to office 365 for my users etc Icmp_seq=85 ttl=125 time=281 ms (dup!) but from windows i am not getting same response, it normal in windows
Does anyone have faced this kind of issue
What could be the solution for this? It works now with my configuration, i had to edit the ttl for the cname record After setting it to 1 minute my tests ran successfully means after shutting down pslocal to simulate a server outtage and changing the cname record pointing to pscentral the client's printer connection is available within a minute. I had recently deployed xchg svr 2013 std
Configured everything as per post installation steps instructions I'm sure it has to do with. Basically i cannot get domain time sync set up correctly, (i.e., workstations are not syncing with the pdc emulator) I have followed ms articles for setting this up, and do not have a gpo configured
Firstly take a look at links below:
The problem with this is the lowest ttl one can set is about 20 minutes The other problem is some dns servers cache these kinds of records far more than 20 minutes so even though you might have a ttl setting of 20 minutes, the other isp providers in the world would increment this to be 240 minutes for example causing all sorts of other issues. When you enable cache locking, the dns server will not allow cached records to be overwritten for the duration of the time to live (ttl) value Cache locking provides for enhanced security against cache poisoning attacks
You can also customize the settings used for cache locking Cache locking is configured as a percent value. I am unable to reach my office server which is running small business server 2008 I try pinging it from the outside and i get the error
When i try tracert, i get the following
Tracing route to mail.fdlconsultinc.com [209.59.110.177] over a maximum of 30 hops 1 1 ms 1 ms <1 ms 192.168.5.1 For client pc, first two lookup always time out before getting an ip However, on the dc, it does not have any timeout when looking up for the same address.
